The Core of our Business
CycloTech is the technology leader for CycloRotor propulsion systems. We offer customized solutions to the specific needs of our customer’s aircraft configuration. The core business is the development of the CycloRotors, integration in the aircraft architecture, and related solutions on Rotor- and Flight-Control-systems (RCS & FCS).
CycloTech also offers access to its patented technology through license agreements and payment of royalties. The IP covers the core of our technology and secures the technological lead. Our team supports customers with the necessary expertise to utilize the benefits of the CycloRotors.

CycloTech develops aircraft configurations together with industrial partners from the aviation industry. Our partner defines the configuration, and we contribute the propulsion unit, consisting of the CycloRotor, the RCS and the FCS, specifically designed for the flight mission of the UAV or UAM application.

URBAN AIR MOBILITY
CycloRotors are a game-changer for Urban Air Mobility – a market worth > EUR 100bn. The technology can be used as an auxiliary system to ensure a precise VTOL phase or as a main propulsion system for Airtaxis targeting a range of 40-100km.
UNMANNED AREAL SYSTEMS
CycloRotors will be the key to high precision UAV applications for inspection of critical infrastructure. The use as a main lifting source or as an auxiliary control system will highly depend on the flight mission of the drone system.
PRECISE THRUST CONTROL
The core business is the design and development of Cyclogyro rotors – a dynamic thrust vector control system – and its licensing. The immediate and individual thrust control provides superior flexibility to conventional propulsion systems.
Know-how, comprehensive optimization tools and vast experimental experience grant a technological lead, highly protected by IP rights. CycloTech is the only company worldwide enabling a sufficient thrust/weight ratio at a compact design.
Based on the flight mission demands of the customer, CycloTech tailors the perfect CycloRotor solution. An aircraft performance calculation tool provides a quick first check of the overall aircraft configuration.
CycloTech is currently finalizing its 83kg flight demonstrator and started indoor flight trials end of June 2021. Performing fast outdoor flights will elevate the technology development to TRL 7.
CycloTech is the technology leader for Cyclogyro propulsion systems for the aviation industry. 15 years of intense R&D, various evolution levels of prototypes led to the first commercializable solution for a revolutionary VTOL propulsion system – the CycloRotor. Starting with an idea and low budgets in the early 2000s, CycloTech has always been ahead of the industry and one of the first companies with a vision for Urban Air Mobility. 2017 was a remarkable year, as the current team started to join the company and the development speed and success increased tremendously. CycloTech has been able to attract highly talented engineers with aerodynamics, mechanical engineering, flight dynamics and control systems background. A main factor for the success of the past 4 years has been the development of a highly sophisticated and automated software toolchain as a basis of continuous improvement of the rotor performance in terms of lift/weight ratio and power/thrust ratio.
The technological lead is protected by IP covering the key elements for high rotation speeds and configurations for efficient and fast forward flight. To provide the market and possible customers, the aircraft manufacturers, with adequate information and proof of the performance of the CycloRotor, the venture decided to manufacture a technology demonstrator by themselves. Used as a technology platform, the demonstrator to show the superior agility and performance of the technology. CycloTech is currently under negotiation to secure an additional 7.5 – 10 million financing in 2021 to further elevate the technology readiness level (TRL) and develop a market ready UAV application.
