CycloTech is the technology leader for CycloRotor propulsion systems. We offer customized solutions to the specific needs of our customer’s aircraft configuration. The core business is the development of the CycloRotors, integration in the aircraft architecture, and related solutions on Rotor- and Flight-Control-systems (RCS & FCS).

CycloTech also offers access to its patented technology through license agreements and payment of royalties. The IP covers the core of our technology and secures the technological lead. Our team supports customers with the necessary expertise to utilize the benefits of the CycloRotors.

CycloTech develops aircraft configurations together with industrial partners from the aviation, automotive and logistics industry. Our partner defines the configuration, and we contribute the propulsion technology.

CycloTech GmbH is the world leading company for aviation propulsion systems based on the Voith-Schneider-Principle. The Austrian company develops the unique 360° thrust vectoring CycloRotor, a new, sustainable, highly maneuverable propulsion system for the new air mobility demands of the 21st century. The compact design and instant control of magnitude and orientation of the omni-directional thrust of CycloRotors enable easy transition from hover to forward flight regimes, gust control and precision landing, ideal for safe operation in crowed airspace and confined areas. CycloTech aims at making individual air mobility as normal as driving a car – opening the sky for everyone.

CycloTech is the technology leader for Cyclogyro propulsion systems for the aviation industry. 15 years of intense R&D, various evolution levels of prototypes led to the first commercializable solution for a revolutionary VTOL propulsion system – the CycloRotor. Starting with an idea and low budgets in the early 2000s, CycloTech has always been ahead of the industry and one of the first companies with a vision for Urban Air Mobility. 2017 was a remarkable year, as the current team started to join the company and the development speed and success increased tremendously. CycloTech has been able to attract highly talented engineers with aerodynamics, mechanical engineering, flight dynamics and control systems background. A main factor for the success of the past 4 years has been the development of a highly sophisticated and automated software toolchain as a basis of continuous improvement of the rotor performance in terms of lift/weight ratio and power/thrust ratio.

The technological lead is protected by IP covering the key elements for high rotation speeds and configurations for efficient and fast forward flight. To provide the market and possible customers, the aircraft manufacturers, with adequate information and proof of the performance of the CycloRotor, the venture decided to manufacture a technology demonstrator by themselves. Used as a technology platform, the demonstrator to show the superior agility and performance of the technology. CycloTech is currently under negotiation to secure an additional 7.5 – 10 million financing in 2021 to further elevate the technology readiness level (TRL) and develop a market ready UAV application.
