Prototype- and Test-Engineer (m/f/d)
As part of the prototyping- and test team, your responsibilities will be:
- Assembling, servicing, and testing of our CycloRotors
- Documenting and post-processing of performed tests
- Installing electrical and mechanical components on our flight demonstrator
- Close cooperation with colleagues from development and software engineering
- Taking duties in-flight test campaigns
- Research on newly implemented technologies, components, and materials
- Collaboration with the other team members
Requirements:
- Completed vocational training in electrical-, mechanical- engineering or mechatronics
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant specific experience, ideally within the aviation industry
- Strong understanding of mechatronic systems
- Self-reliance, reliability, punctuality, accurate and conscientious way of working
- Team orientation and problem-solving capabilities
- Readiness to travel for occasional external test campaigns
- Fluent communication in English

Head of Regulatory Affairs / Airwothiness (m/f/d)
The Head of Regulatory Affairs (HoRA)will be responsible for ensuring an adequate and timely interaction with the authorities, the development of the Airworthiness function within CycloTech and the future build-up of an approved Design Organisation (DOA) for the new 360° thrust vectoring propulsion system based on CycloRotors. The HoRA will be responsible for building a procedure management system and creation and maintenance of the Design Organization Handbook per applicable EASA requirements, together with promoting the Safety-First culture within the organization. Initially, the HoRA reports directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Be the primary contact point at CycloTech for all Aviation Authorities and establish and maintain a good relationship with main global Aviation Authorities
- Monitor the evolving regulations with respect to eVTOLs and Electric Hybrid Propulsion System, in particular and provide requirements stemming from regulations for the design of CycloRotors
- Organize a company procedures system to fulfil company priorities, as well as EASA Part 21 requirements including a Safety Management System
- Educate the company with respect to aviation regulations and contribute to a comprehensive safety culture
- Lead the establishment of a DOA
- Establish, develop, and manage the Airworthiness team, ensure proper staffing and procedural support with respect to company priorities and objectives
- Drive future Type Certificate activities
This includes:
- Ensure that the engineering teams are up to date with new/revised applicable certification regulations through regular training
- Develop the Design Organisation Handbook and ensure its proper maintenance
- Co-operate with the Authorities in developing procedures to be used for the Design Organisation Approval and type certification process (Electric Hybrid Propulsion System), including SORA
- Nomination and development of Certification Verification Engineers (CVEs)
- Coordinate and manage all certification activities
- Ensure proper compliance demonstration and fulfilment of airworthiness and safety objectives
- Report safety critical events to the relevant authorities and implement corrective measures
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ continuous experience within an aerospace design organization, preferably in aviation propulsion systems, or at a European Air Safety Agency
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior airworthiness role, preferably for propulsion systems
- Comprehensive understanding of EASA Regulations: Part 21, CS-E, SC-VTOL and SC-EHPS
- Experience in working with EASA
- Experience in building and leading an airworthiness team
- Fluent communication in English
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience in working with Austro Control, FAA, UK CAA or other aviation authorities
- Experience with 14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, 29, 33, 34 and other aviation regulations
- Familiar with building a Safety Management System (SMS)
- Experience in building organizations from scratch
- Self -reliance, reliability, punctuality, accurate and conscientious way of working
