As an Aeroacoustics Engineer, you will be part of a passionate team developing innovative solutions to make the CycloRotor quieter and more efficient. Your work will address noise concerns and will contribute to gaining public acceptance of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) revolution. You also will:
- Explore & suggest best practices for aeroacoustic numerical simulations to predict CycloRotor noise
- Develop a prediction methodology for CycloRotor noise
- Validate the prediction methodology with experimental data
- Explore various parameters that impact the aeroacoustic performance of CycloRotors
- Derive general guidelines for low-noise designs
- Conduct both single-rotor and multi-rotor studies to find the optimum way to integrate CycloRotors into different eVTOL configurations
- Participate in noise measurement campaigns, including preparation, conduction, post-processing, and analysis of the results
- An advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field. Preferably with a specialisation in aeroacoustics or aerodynamics
- 2+ years of experience in aeroacoustics and aerodynamics optimisation in the aerospace or vertical axis wind turbine sector
- Experience with numerical methods validation
- Understanding of and experience with commercial or in-house Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Computational Aeroacoustics (CAA) codes
- Interest in high-performance computing (HPC) and numerical methods
- Good programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Fortran, C, C++, etc.)
- Experience with Linux environments
- Experience with measurement techniques for aeroacoustics will be a plus
- Proactive and independent working style, as well as open minded approach
- Goal oriented and able to work in projects based environment
- Excellent analytical skills & motivated to learn
- Good communication skills, particularly within an international team
- Fluency in English

- Annual full-time based salary for the position is € 55,000 gross. We are willing to pay above the stated salary, final offer will be based on market level as well on individual qualification and experience.
